Enjoy panoramic views of the ocean from this two bedroom oceanfront condo in wonderful Cayman Kai. The rental is a short 1/2 mile walk from Rum Point, and some of the best snorkelling on the island is right out your back door. Enjoy oceanfront meals on the screened in lanai, and fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean and swaying palms from each room. Bring the outside inside with six opening doors facing the ocean. Open the four doors on the opposite side and allow the ocean breezes to flow right through. At the Sea Lodges of Cayman Kai, you can avoid the crowds (no running to the beach at sunrise to get your towel on a beach chair), and take in the serenity of the beach on your own time. Let SeaRendipity cottage be your found pleasure.
We absolutely loved SeaRendipity! It was the perfect place for my family to stay. We felt like we were on a secluded island as we lucked out and don’t think there were many others staying in the nearby condos. It is an absolute dream to be able to wake up and see the sunrise right outside your doors! I do wish I would’ve noticed the door holder things to prop them open earlier in our stay. Take it from me and look for those so you can have your doors open to the sea when you’re inside. The house is perfectly clean and very comfortable. My only suggestion is to make sure you bring shampoo as there was none provided. There was body wash. Everything is available in the kitchen— even a blender for tropical smoothies! We lived on the island for two years in 2007-2009 and although most of the activities we did required quite a bit of driving, it’s worth it to us to stay up on the quiet Rum Point side that has that heavenly island feel. Thank you, Ed, for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back in a couple of years! - Shalynna C. - July 2022
The location and amenities of this rental were perfect. Being able to walk right out onto the beach from our screened in patio was fantastic. The condo location made it easy to see the sights of east side of the island. It is also close to Starfish Point so we could easily go there and explore on our own without spending money to book a tour. We were also able to drive to the west end one day to experience some of the things available there while being able to return to the peaceful bliss of the north side. If given the opportunity to return to Grand Cayman I would love to stay here again. - Martha B. - July 2022
Stayed here with my wife and three teenagers - we all loved it. Right on the beach, quiet, private - really nice feel to the place. We stayed at a more up-scale condo with a pool, etc. for our second week, and we all liked this place better. - Cory C. - Aug 2022
The first thing you will notice about this unit is how clean it is and it only gets better from there. Location is everything and it doesn’t get any better than this unit. We were amazed that we were able to sit in the covered lanai and be 50 steps away from the beautiful ocean. We were fortunate that all the other units except one were empty so we had a private beach. All of our meals we consumed on the lanai. The breeze was magnificent when we opened all the doors. We highly recommend this unit. - Anthony G. - Aug 2022
This place is gorgeous with an incredible view. Like drop dead view with your own vast sandy beach. It is somewhat remote on the North Side but driving is easier than near Georgetown. If you looking to get away from the crowd, this place is it. The sea is a little rougher on the north side but it has great snorkeling. I didn’t get a chance due to extremely windy days when I was there but I still sat in my lanai n soak in the views and take walks on the beach. Ed is incredible and responsive. There are no stupid questions and I had plenty:) he is extremely helpful. I would definitely stay here again. - Yen - Apr 2022
Absolutely heavenly! I will be suggesting this place to any friends who need a tropical escape. Of the two dozen or more airbnbs we have stayed in, this one ranks among the best. Even in other beach-front places, rarely does one feel the ocean so present - the ocean breeze flows right through the place, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves allowed me the best sleep I have had in many months. The layout is harmonious and allows the best parts of nature in (breeze, the sound of waves, swaying palms, birdsong, glowing sunrise) and keeps the mosquitos out. It is very quiet and very private. The landscaping is also simple, harmonious and calming. A quick drive to some excellent restaurants and the little grocery store down the road was helpful too. Nothing is very far - even the dive shop at the Far East end was only an easy 25 min drive. The whole place was very clean and the kitchen and bathrooms have all the basics. Beds and couches were comfortable, which makes such a difference. The screened patios (lenais) are truly magnificent - there is always some shade and always some sun, and protection from the evening mosquitos that are inevitable in any tropical place when the wind softens. We enjoyed the lenai so much we talked of building one at home! There was an abundance of towels, which we appreciated, and the washer is also very helpful - it allowed us to pack way less stuff and do a quick load mid week. A few times we found the afternoons quite warm on the island (not accustomed to it coming from a long Canadian winter) and on these afternoons we could either rest in the breezy shade on the patio (shady spot for me, sunny spot for my husband) or turn on the AC in the bedroom and have a cooling, relaxing nap. - Angela - Mar 2022
Great place! Day 1, we had a large turtle come up on the beach and right up to the back of the unit! Once-in-a-lifetime experience. Snorleling off the beach is great or drift down to Rum Point and get out and have a few drinks before waling back. Food: best option is Hurleys. If you are in Georgetown Kirks is top of the line. Restaurants: Tikka for dinner, the Waterfront Diner (Camana Bay) for breakfast and Czech Inn Grill (Boddern Town) for lunch. The Wrech Bar @ Rum Point anytime. If you get out, snorkel Cemetary Beach (West Bay) and get beach time at Smith's Cove. - Kurt B - July 2019
What a slice of heaven here. Your home is amazing - the breeze, the snorkeling righ out the back door, the sunrize, the yet, it was all so beautiful. YOur home is the nicest one on the property! I am so glad we stayed here. The boys had so much fun using a machete we bough to open coconuts! We enjoyed the great food at Tukka & Pirates Eatery. So much to do but our favorite thing was snorkeling here. Will be ack and thank you. - Hughes Fam - June 2019
Birght morning sun awakend every morning, beautiful sea with a lovely view, sleeping under the massive starry sky spreading at night. Such a stay will remain a lifetime for us. The beach here was the best place to snorkel compared to other well-known beaches in Grand Cayman! (we saw barracudas, sharks, eels, stingrays, squids, and more! Also my parents had found a big flike!) Thank you for the stay! We enjoyed it bery much. We are excited to be back soon! - Shitara Fam. - Aug 2019
We had an absolutely lovely stay at this great beach cottage. It had everything we needed and is in a stunning location. The owners were very helpful with any questions we had. It was heaven! - Betsy H. - July 2018
The rental was great. There was plenty of space for our family of four. We were so glad to have air conditioning in the bedrooms...The stargazing on the beach was incredible. The location is fantastic for visiting starfish point and the bioluminescent bay regularly. We would love to visit again! - Dena A. - July 2018
My husband, myself and my 10 year old son had the very best trip of our lives! This home has everything you need to enjoy paradise. The home was clean, had great internet access, and was steps from an amazing beach-- paradise! We didn't need to use the air conditioning, the breeze that goes through the home is perfect. We did the Rum Point float daily, and enjoyed the great snorkeling out from from the condo also. The location is key to having the most relaxing trip ever. It is very private and you can take a quick drive to some amazing restaurants-- our favorite is Tukka and Big Tree BBQ. We are grateful to the owners for taking such great care of us-- and answering all of my plethora of questions. We are already planning our next trip back!!! - Tracy D. - Feb 2018
This is the second time for my wife and I stayed at Searenity in four years and this time brought another couple. The place is perfect if you want a combination of quite serenity, virtually private beach, world class snorkeling, and convenience to other good experiences and a few wonderful eating/refreshment establishments. The unit was ready for our arrival and Barbara a phone call away. Although other than letting her know we arrived, we never needed her assistance. Perfect for one or two couples, or small family, with entries directly into your bedrooms/bathrooms as well as center gathering areas. The North Side can be windy in December, as we experienced previously, but you can easily escape that on the front porch where we spent the first three evenings enjoying local beer and rum... The next five days got progressively better. The Sea Lodges complex is approximately 18-20 single story, vaulted ceiling units sharing a very large footprint of property so quite and plenty of beach for all. Only three other units were occupied besides ours that week. Our primary interest here is snorkeling the marine sanctuary right off the beach. As enjoyable the last experience was, this one was even better. Besides beautiful coral formations, there is huge assortment of fish. One coral/rock formation is not more than 100 feet from shore, center of the east/west property line. But the great stuff to see is from 100 yards from shore to the natural coral break wall approximately 300 yards out. There is really no need to leave the area of the Sea Lodges. We saw a huge Ray roaming the sand flats and an 8+ foot Nurse shark feeding in the area... Perfect vacation, no complaints. Thanks Ed. - Adam B.. - Dec 2017
My mother, husband, and I stayed at this beautiful property for a 10-day vacation. The accommodations were perfect. We arrived to a clean and tidy house with all linens and bedding available. A master bedroom and bath for my mother and a master bedroom and bath for my husband and me are located on either side of a comfortable living room and kitchen area. Each section of the house has louvered double doors to the fully screened lanai that can be left open at night to catch the breezes. We snorkeled right off the beach in the rear of the property and where we saw turtles, sting ray, a variety of beautiful fish, and coral. Rum Point is a short 10-minute walk away along the road. It was delightful to stay on the quiet side of the island... - Brenda L. - Feb 2017
This was our 4th stay at Searendipity and again we had a wonderful, relaxing time. The condo is very clean, has all the essentials you need and has a spectacular ocean views. The units are just one story so there is no one making noise upstairs. If you really want to get away and disconnect this is the place for you. I wish we could have stayed longer. You can swim at the beach in front of the unit but we love being a 2 minute drive from Rum Point . We also like staying at the condo because we can cook and eat in after a long day at the beach kayaking, swimming and wave boarding. However, there are also enough good restaurants close by such as Tukka, The Lighthouse, Over the Edge, Kurt’s and Kaibo. We will definitely return again to this little piece of paradise. - Eric J. - March 2017
Searendipity is perfect for 2 couples although we had it to ourselves. 2 bedrooms , 2 baths, perfect kitchen, small but well equipped, nice living area, 2 porches, one seaside 1 in the back in case the sea breeze is too much and it has clothes lines, perfect for drying all your wet stuff. We hardly left here because it was so nice. The snorkeling out front was awesome. It's a marine park so no taking anything which means coral, fish and shells galore to just see and appreciate. If you need total air conditioned environment this isn't for you but both bedrooms have air conditioning and all the windows open and there are ceiling fans in every room so we never even turned the air on. There was always a breeze coming through. It was perfect for us. - Barb. - Jan 2017
40 years ago, we were fortunate to be introduced to the Cayman Islands and start coming on a regular basis. As the years passed, the island and seven mile beach became more and more developed and crowded with tourists. Even though we continued to enjoy the snorkeling, water, and beaches, we missed the quiet and peacefulness of "the good old days." The sealodges at Cayman Kai were the answer! The north side of the island has developed at a much slower pace and continues to have all of the benefits of the beauty and peacefulness of the island without the crowds. We loved the snorkeling at the reef right out in front of our cottage. The large screened-in-porch on the beach was the greatest part of the whole place and where we spent most of our time. We recommend this beachfront rental to anyone who wants the beauty and peace of the Caymans without the crowds! - Linda D. - Jan 2017
I have been to Grand Cayman a couple other times, but this was by far my favorite time and it had a lot to do with where we stayed! We absolutely LOVED our time at SeaRendipity! Even in the end of June the weather was so nice we were able to leave the windows and doors open to enjoy the island breeze for the first few nights. Our power went out one night in the middle of the week and Ed and Barbara were so accommodating to do anything they could to help us with getting it fixed very quickly! Other than that one small bump in the road, everything else was magical! The snorkeling right out in front was awesome and I think I have found my new "happy place" I am going to in my mind! Thank you so much for such an incredible place for an incredible vacation! We are hoping to return to your getaway as soon as possible!!! - Courtney B. - July 2016
Just spent a week at SeaRendipity and it was way better than I hoped. Right on the beach with warm sea breezes and fabulous sunrises. We snorkeled every day. Lots of beautiful reef fish, stingrays, turtles, coral, fans, and even a spotted eagle ray! The beachfront cottage was clean and very well equipped. It felt like the Caribbean of 50 years ago. If your looking for a peaceful, quiet, and romantic destination, this is it. Watching the stars is so much better than watching screens. Dining on the seaside lanai was terrific! Ed made the entire process easy and was always accessible. I definitely recommend this property for your beach vacation! - Brian S. - March 2016
My husband and I travel together quite often with our best friends, Barb and Eddie. Having 2 king size bedrooms with attached bathrooms was just what we needed. We don't like crowds, so Searendipity was the perfect place nestled on the north end of the island at Rum Point away from the hustle and bustle of Seven Mile Beach. The water is so clear and smooth just out the back door. The kitchen had all the pots, pans, utinsils, etc. that we needed. Barb was able to fix outstanding breakfasts and dinners almost everyday. Everything was so quiet, we only saw one other couple on the beach while we were there. There are 2 ice chests there for us to use. That was nice to carry with us to save money on drinks throughout the day. Great beach chairs to sit under the cabana and enjoy the sunrise, the waves, and the moon, all from the same seat. Big thank you to Ed for allowing us to share his home here in heaven.... - Sandy B. - Oct 2015
We just returned from a week at this unit. All pictures and reviews are correct on this unit. Wonderful views! Great snorkeling out toward reef in front of cottage. Awesome ocean breeze sweeping through unit so well, that we never used the AC at night. All windows open with the peaceful sounds of the waves breaking on shore. That was priceless! Not many people around this area, Beach was raked every morning we were there, Coffee in the screened porch every morning watching the sunrise :) very relaxing. Just what the doctor ordered. - Rich M. - June 2015
Fantastic lodging and location for those who like a simple out of the way place. Gorgeous reef and breeze. Accommodations are charming and have just the amenities you need for a tranquil escape to the Caribbean. The condo structure and layout is a clever design for privacy, natural ventilation and no bugs. Very much appreciated the helpfulness and information provided by the owner. - Jim - April 2015
Wonderful five day beachfront stay. Loved being on North side of the island. We had the beach to ourselves. Picturesque with great snorkeling right out the backdoor. Rum Point restaurants were great. Accommodations were wonderful. Agree with other reviewes. We had everything we needed. Very user friendly. Hope we can come back again soon and would love to stay here again. - Mark D. - March 2015
Four winter bound travelers arrived expectantly at this property. It was absolutely perfect. An ideal floor layout for both privacy (2 separate bedrooms both identical, each with their own direct porch/beach access and generous living areas between. Property was clean and in good condition. With LARGE, completely screened in front and back porches and nearby freshwater hoses to wash off, it was perfect for long, lazy beach days. Snorkeling was good right out front (turtles, green eels, barracuda and many colorful fish were among many highlights). Nearby is fabulous coral/reef snorkeling at Queens Point (Beach?). The owner, Ed, is super easy to work with and very responsive. The property manager was easy to get hold of and responsive as well. We Hope to return!! - Stephanie H. - March 2015
We enjoy this part of Grand Cayman because is quiet and private; being at Searendipity was just perfect: right on the water, 10 minute walk to Rum Point. The rental was clean, no problems with water pressure or temperature. Everything was in working order. In fact, the owner went out of his way to replace a broken DVD player just prior to our arrival. Did not need the AC; the ocean breeze was rather comfortable at night. The Netflix streaming and Wifi had a few delays downloading sporadically; nothing major, however. I would recommend this rental to anyone. - Erik J. - Feb 2015
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home! This was our first trip to Grand Cayman and we found the beautiful, peaceful setting of your home to be just want we wanted. Step out the back door directly to the beach, beautiful waters and great snorkeling! Drive/walk down to Rum Point to catch the glass bottom boat to Stingray City (great experience), hang out, or grab a bit of food. Exploring the island via car from one end to another was easier than expected. Our relaxing vacation was a mixture of rest, seeing the sites and great food. We are now back to our part of the world with great memories and plans to return! - Katherine D. - Jan 2015
"The four of us had a wonderful week here in the Grand Caymans, and a big part was attributed to your wonderful cottage. Thanks for the hospitality and assistance before we arrived and we hope to be back next year. We loved the coral reef out the back door and the clean and well kept beach and grounds." - Kathy (Louisville, KY) - Jan 2015
"Had a great time. The snorkeling right out the front door was spectacular!! We saw lobsters, rays, fish, and a whole bunch of conch shells. We ran across an entire section of sea floor that had 30+ conch that had recently been cleaned by what we are assuming was one hungry octopus. It was amazing. We have snorkeled all over the world and never seen anything like it. The north side of the island is amazing and if we ever return we will definitely stay at Searendipity - we loved it! The openness was great and the location can't be beat." - Anita (Moline, IL) - Jan 2015
"We really enjoyed our stay at SeaLodge #23. It's been a great week and Cayman Kai is one of the best destinations on the island. Both kaibo Yacht and Rum Point Club restaurants were excellent! While Stingray City an Coral Gardens were fantastic snorkelling, the best is right outside of #23. Loads of fish along the rock wall by the rocks. With any luck, we'll be back soon." - Jo & Michael D. - Feb 2014
My family of four had a great experience at this rental property. It was a very relaxing vacation due to the fact that we almost had the ocean to ourselves. The rental was very well equipped and my boys loved reading the reef coral, reef fish, and the reef creature's books that were left for us on the table. We were able to find almost every single fish in the book! We snorkeled the Rum Point reef drift route almost every day and managed to see different types of rays, a green moray eel, lobsters, turtles and even a snurse shark! We loved the location, privacy, and cooking at the property which saved us a lot of money. It is definitely a little piece of paradise! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! - Diane C. - Oct 2014
"We came from the big city looking for blue water & white sandy beaches. We saw lobsters fish & a shark & turtles. All Right here @ Searendipity." - Griegh (Austin, TX) - Dec 2014
"We enjoyed our stay; it is a corner unit - very private and quiet. The photos are an accurate depiction - but do not show the high, vaulted ceilings, which give the rooms a larger dimension. We did not use the AC; I don't think is needed with the nice, comfortable breeze coming from the ocean - particularly at night. Everything worked well: kitchen appliances, tv/dvd (nice collection), water pressure and temperature was fine, bed was comfortable. You can walk on the beach to the Wreck Bar in Rum Point. My dealings with the owners were straightforward, timely communications, good response. The property manager, Ms. Welma was extremely helpful on a number of occasions. So, if you want privacy, fantastic oceanfront views and quiet atmosphere, this rental provides it. I recommend it and would return when I get the chance." - Erik J. - March 2013
"Beach was fantastic! Definitely on the secluded side of the island and just far enough away from Rum Point (but within walking distance). All the other residents of the sealodges were great neighbors. We were fortunate to have several vacant sealodges next to us. Had the place and the beach to ourselves. The new palapa was a welcome addition. Had a blast! A really enjoyable vacation for 15 days. All the people that we met on the island were extremely friendly. Over the Edge restaurant is a must for breakfast or dinner (2 miles down the road). The marine life is unbelievable (50 steps to the water). Enjoyed the resident birds and lizards. Water temp is 80+. The setting was worth a million bucks (sunrise and sunsets, beach and crystal clear water). This was a spectacular beachfront vacation for my wife and our 2 friends." - Tim & Tracy (Chehalis, WA) - March 2013
